Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate 3-year National Diploma/Degree.
  • Experience: Appropriate experience in Asset Management environment.
  • Appropriate experience in LOGIS.
  • Appropriate supervisory experience.
  • Inherent requirement of the job: Valid EB/B/C/C1 driver’s license.
  • Competencies (knowledge/skills): Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), National, Provincial Treasury Regulations and the Accounting Officer's System of the Department of Health and Wellness including delegations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the LOGIS system.
  • Knowledge of Asset management.
  • Good organisational, management and communication skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Duties

  • Maintain a credible and accurate asset register by ensuring all asset movements are correctly recorded, assets are appropriately labelled, and asset information is accurately reflected on the Department's asset management systems.
  • Perform monthly BAS/LOGIS and lease reconciliations, process journals to correct discrepancies, and prepare asset-related financial reports, including Annual Financial Statement (AFS) disclosures.
  • Manage and coordinate asset control processes, including annual asset verification, asset disposals, and the completion of all IFS/AFS financial year-end documentation.
  • Identify asset management training needs and manage the performance and development of staff.
