At its National Office in Pretoria, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is looking for a committed and talented person to work as an Internal Audit Practitioner. This role is essential for conducting thorough internal audits that guarantee the efficacy and integrity of IPID’s operations.


    Internal Audit Practitioner Job Overview

    • Position: Internal Audit Practitioner
    • Department: Independent Police Investigative Directorate
    • Location: National Office, Pretoria
    • Salary: R308 154 per annum (Level 07)
    • Closing Date: 05 July 2024

    Internal Audit Practitioner Job Requirements

    • Qualification: A three-year NQF7 Degree in Internal Auditing or Accounting.
    • Experience: Three years of full-time experience in internal auditing.
    • Certification: Membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors of South Africa (IIASA).
    • Skills: Interpersonal skills, good communication, report writing, analytical skills, computer literacy, planning, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge: Understanding of the public service, framework for strategic plans and annual performance plans, International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (ISPPIA), and regulatory frameworks like PFMA, Public Service Regulations, and National Treasury Regulations.

    Important Notes

    • Applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications and other relevant documents initially but must submit the new Z83 form and a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
    • Applications using the incorrect application form (old Z83) will not be considered.
    • The Z83 form must be fully completed, signed, and initialed by the applicant.
    • Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a technical competency exercise and must provide certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents upon request.
    • All shortlisted candidates will undergo security vetting, including criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, and employment verification.
    • The appointment is subject to a probation period of 12 months and a performance agreement.

    Key Duties

    • Assist in the development and review of internal audit plans, policies, and procedures.
    • Conduct audit projects and compile draft audit reports.
    • Coordinate audit committee activities, including providing Secretariat Services for Audit Committee meetings.
    • Prepare draft internal audit performance reports for submission to relevant stakeholders and forums.
    • Supervise clerical staff.
