    For 2025–2027, the South African Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ&CD) is offering extensive internship opportunities, giving jobless graduates beneficial chances to obtain real-world experience in their subjects of study. By bridging the gap between professional job and academic study, this initiative seeks to improve young South Africans’ employability.


    About the Internship Opportunities

    The DOJ&CD Internship Opportunities are designed to provide graduates with hands-on experience in various disciplines within the department. The programme spans 24 months, during which interns will receive mentorship and exposure to real-world applications of their academic knowledge.

    1. Legal Internship

    • Reference No: GI-LEGAL
    • Duration: 24 Months
    • Stipend: R7,450.75 per month
    • Qualification Required: Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
    • Number of Positions: 282
    • Location: National Office and all provinces

    Ideal for law graduates looking to gain experience in litigation, legal research, and advisory roles within a professional legal environment.

    2. Social Work Internship

    • Reference No: GI-SOCIAL WORK
    • Duration: 24 Months
    • Stipend: R7,450.75 per month
    • Qualification Required: Degree in Social Work
    • Number of Positions: 20
    • Location: All provinces

    Ideal for social work graduates passionate about community engagement, social support services, and intervention programs aimed at improving lives.

    3. Language Practice Internship

    • Reference No: GI-LP
    • Duration: 24 Months
    • Stipend: R7,450.75 per month
    • Qualifications Required: National Diploma or BA in Legal Interpreting, Translation, Linguistics, African Languages, Language Practice, or related fields
    • Number of Positions: 20
    • Location: All provinces

    Ideal for language graduates interested in legal interpreting, translation services, and linguistic assistance within the justice system.

    4. Finance and Supply Chain Management Internship

    • Reference No: GI-FINANCE & SCM
    • Duration: 24 Months
    • Stipend: R7,450.75 per month
    • Qualifications Required: National Diploma or Degree in BCom Supply Chain Management, BCom Law (Commercial), Logistics, Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Cost and Management Accounting, Financial Management, Public Finance, Financial Accounting, BCom Accounting
    • Number of Positions: 20
    • Location: National Office and all provinces

    Ideal for graduates seeking exposure to financial management, supply chain processes, and administrative functions in a professional setting.

    5. Internal Audit and Forensic Internship

    • Reference No: GI-IAF
    • Duration: 24 Months
    • Stipend: R7,450.75 per month
    • Qualifications Required: National Diploma or Degree in Internal Audit or Accounting
    • Number of Positions: 20
    • Location: National Office and all provinces

    Ideal for graduates interested in auditing, forensic investigations, risk assessment, and compliance monitoring.

    6. Information Technology Internship

    • Reference No: GI-IT
    • Duration: 24 Months
    • Stipend: R6,312.25 per month
    • Qualifications Required:
    • Certificate in A+ and N+ (ITIL Foundation is an added advantage)
    • Number of Positions: 20
    • Location: National Office and all provinces

    Ideal for IT graduates looking to gain experience in technical support, networking, and systems administration within a government department.

      Eligibility Criteria

      To be considered for the Internship Opportunities, applicants must meet the following criteria:

      • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
      • Educational Qualifications: Possess a recognized tertiary qualification in the relevant field.
      • Prior Experience: Should not have previously participated in any internship programme or in-service training.
      • Willingness to Relocate: Candidates applying for positions outside their province must be willing to relocate and arrange their own accommodation, as the internship offers a stipend but not a full salary.

        • Form Z83: Complete and sign the new Form Z83.
