    The Gauteng Department of Health is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Material Recording Clerk within the Directorate of Supply Chain Management. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on efficient supply chain management in the public health sector.


    Material Recording Clerk Job Details

    • Position: Material Recording Clerk

    • Salary Package: R 216 417.00 per annum (Level 05)
    • Location: Masakhane Provincial Laundry and Cook Freeze Factory, Gauteng

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Material Recording Clerk, your primary duties will include:

    • Receiving and Issuing Stock: Receive stock according to purchase order numbers and issue stock as per VA2 requests. Maintain accurate handling of VA10 and VA11 cards.
    • Stock Control and Management: Perform comprehensive stock control at the dispatch area, implementing the FIFO system and adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
    • Inventory Management: Conduct monthly stock taking, replenishment, and disposal. Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid over and under-stocking.
    • Record Keeping and Reporting: Update inventory registers, compile reconciliation reports, maintain the O-9 file, and prepare the RLS02 form for payments.
    • Store Maintenance: Keep the store clean and organized, dusting shelves and items, removing damaged stock, and ensuring a tidy work environment.
    • Compliance and Reporting: Report losses, thefts, and damaged stock, and ensure compliance with departmental norms and standards.
    • Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor.

    Requirements

    To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Minimum Education: A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • Computer Literacy: A computer literacy certificate is essential.
    • Experience: At least two years of relevant experience in supply chain management is preferred. Priority will be given to EPWP/Interns.
    • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a good understanding of public service prescripts and policies.

    Required Documents

    • A fully completed and signed new Z83 application form.
    • A recently updated comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).

    Applications lacking a Z83 form or a detailed CV will be disqualified. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by HR to submit certified copies of educational qualifications and other relevant documents not older than six months on or before the interview day.

    • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and accompanied by an evaluation certificate.
    • Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only.
    • Selected candidates will be subjected to vetting and pre-employment suitability checks, including criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification, and employment verification.
    • Where applicable, candidates may undergo a skills/knowledge test.
    • Medical surveillance will be conducted on recommended candidates.
