    The Manufacturing, Engineering, and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) has announced exciting job opportunities for professionals in various roles. These positions are aligned with the SETA license term and offer competitive salary packages. Below is a breakdown of the available merSETA Job Opportunities, including key responsibilities, required qualifications, and how to apply.


    merSETA Job Opportunities

    1. Manager: Knowledge, Information & Records (D1)

    • Reference Number: MKIR/HO/04/09/24
    • Salary Range: R728 286 – R896 940 per annum
    • Contract: Fixed-term contract aligned to the SETA license term
    • Location: Head Office

    Purpose:

    This role is responsible for managing merSETA’s knowledge, information, and records systems, ensuring compliance with governance regulations, and overseeing policies and procedures related to these areas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement knowledge management strategies.
    • Maintain knowledge repositories and databases.
    • Conduct training sessions on knowledge management.
    • Oversee information architecture for efficient storage and retrieval.
    • Manage information governance policies and records management.
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding records retention.
    • Perform regular audits to ensure adherence to guidelines.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • NQF Level 6 in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
    • NQF Level 7 or higher in the same fields is advantageous.
    • 5 years of experience in knowledge and records management.
    • Strong problem-solving, customer service, project management, and communication skills.

    2. Specialist: Evaluation (C3)

    • Reference Number: SE/HO/30/09/24
    • Salary Range: R481 232 – R576 384 per annum
    • Contract: Fixed-term contract aligned to the SETA license term
    • Location: Head Office

    Purpose:

    The role involves designing, conducting, and overseeing evaluation projects related to merSETA-funded programs. It also requires developing evaluation reports and contributing to the continuous improvement of these programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and manage evaluation projects.
    • Draft and implement evaluation policies and procedures.
    • Monitor projects for timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
    • Assist with project budgets and financial tracking.
    • Provide recommendations for program improvements based on evaluation findings.
    • Manage project reports and present findings to stakeholders.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • NQF Level 7 in Education, Public/Business Administration, Econometrics, Social/Political Sciences, or related fields.
    • NQF Level 8 would be an advantage.
    • 3 years of experience in the Sector Skills Planning environment.
    • Strong data analysis, customer service, and relationship management skills.

    3. Client Liaison Officer (C4) – Free State

    • Reference Number: CLO/FS/30/09/24
    • Salary Range: R554 277 – R674 272 per annum
    • Contract: Fixed-term contract aligned to the SETA license term
    • Location: Free State Regional Office

    Purpose:

    This position focuses on implementing the merSETA Client Services strategy to ensure client satisfaction, promote skills development, and redress imbalances in the training sector.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Guide and support companies in developing mandatory grants.
    • Ensure enterprises comply with merSETA quality assurance policies.
    • Promote participation in learning interventions and training partnerships.
    • Monitor learning interventions and support employers where necessary.
    • Manage moderation of trade testing and assessments.
    • Develop community-based programs in rural and farm areas.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • NQF Level 6 in ODETP, Engineering Studies, Business Studies, Administration, or Project Management.
    • NQF Level 7 or a qualified artisan would be advantageous.
    • 4 years of experience in client liaison and the technical environment related to manufacturing and engineering.
    • Strong relationship management, project management, and communication skills.

    4. Client Liaison Officer (C4) – Eastern Cape

    • Reference Number: CLO/EC/26/09/24
    • Salary Range: R554 277 – R674 272 per annum
    • Contract: Fixed-term contract aligned to the SETA license term
    • Location: Eastern Cape Regional Office

    Purpose:

    Similar to the Free State role, this position focuses on facilitating the merSETA Client Services strategy to improve access to training and ensure high client satisfaction in the Eastern Cape region.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Guide and support companies in mandatory grants development.
    • Ensure compliance with merSETA quality assurance and workplace approval policies.
    • Support participation in training partnerships and learning interventions.
    • Monitor and support learning interventions and trade assessments.
    • Promote merSETA project initiatives and community-based programs.
    • Collaborate on BBBEE and discretionary grant funding initiatives.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • NQF Level 6 in ODETP, Engineering Studies, Business Studies, or Project Management.
    • NQF Level 7 in the same fields or as a qualified artisan is an advantage.
    • 4 years of experience in client liaison and technical environments related to the manufacturing sector.
    • Strong skills in relationship management, project management, and attention to detail.
