    1. DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: Divisional Manager: Human Settlement

    Job Overview
    The Divisional Manager: Human Settlement position is a strategic role that focuses on managing housing initiatives and low-cost housing applications. The incumbent will be responsible for liaising with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with municipal policies, and educating the community about low-cost housing requirements. If you have experience in project management and knowledge of housing standards, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and administer low-cost housing applications.
    • Advise council on housing programs and ensure the enforcement of municipal housing policies.
    • Plan ahead by determining housing needs in consultation with other municipal directorates.
    • Liaise with the Provincial Department of Human Settlements on housing projects.
    • Compile and present reports to Management and Council.
    • Address audit and risk action plans.
    • Guide and allocate tasks to division personnel to maintain high-quality customer service.

    Requirements

    • Educational Qualification: BTech or B-Degree in the Built Environment or equivalent.
    • Experience: 5 years of relevant experience, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role.
    • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, project management experience.
    • Other: A valid Code B driver’s license and computer literacy.

    Salary Scale: R 536,244 per annum.

    2. DEPARTMENT OF CORPORATE SUPPORT SERVICES: Divisional Manager: Legal Services

    Job Overview
    This position offers a dynamic opportunity to manage legal services within the municipality. The Divisional Manager: Legal Services will focus on ensuring legal compliance, managing litigation, contract negotiations, and providing legal advice to municipal management and council.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement legal service policies.
    • Manage litigation, by-laws, and contract negotiations.
    • Provide legal comments on items presented to various committees.
    • Prepare reports and legal advice for the Municipal Manager, Mayor, and Council.
    • Oversee external legal services and ensure timely management of legal documents like summonses and affidavits.
    • Draft and amend by-laws in compliance with legislation.
    • Manage legal risks and monitor compliance.

    Requirements

    • Educational Qualification: LLB Degree or equivalent legal qualification.
    • Experience: 5 years of relevant legal experience, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role.
    • Skills: Strong legal and administrative skills, knowledge of court procedures.
    • Other: Admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court, a valid driver’s license, and computer literacy (MS Office).

    Salary Scale: R 536,244 per annum.

    3. ASSISTANT LABOUR RELATIONS OFFICER

    Job Overview
    If you have a background in Labour Law or Labour Relations, the Assistant Labour Relations Officer role offers a perfect opportunity to work within Mogalakwena Municipality’s Human Resources department. The position focuses on managing employee relations, supporting the Labour Relations unit, and facilitating grievance resolutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the consistent application of labour relations policies.
    • Provide administrative support to the Labour Relations Officer.
    • Attend disciplinary and grievance hearings and ensure proper documentation.
    • Assist in the preparation of Local Labour Forum (LLF) meetings and handle report writing.

    Requirements

    • Educational Qualification: Diploma in Labour Relations, Labour Law, or equivalent.
    • Experience: 1-2 years of practical experience in Labour Relations, with knowledge of SALGBC Agreements.
    • Skills: Strong report writing and computer literacy.
    • Other: A valid driver’s license.

    Salary Scale: R 260,325 – R 296,184 per annum.

    4. DEPARTMENT OF MUNICIPAL MANAGER: Social Media Administrator (Internship)

    Job Overview
    This internship is designed for creative individuals with a knack for social media. As a Social Media Administrator, you will coordinate social media communications and campaigns while working closely with the Communication Division. This position is ideal for recent graduates with a background in public relations, digital marketing, or social media management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and monitor social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
    • Develop social media campaigns in collaboration with the communication team.
    • Analyze audience engagement and report on the success of social media initiatives.
    • Provide social media services for municipal events and respond to public inquiries.

    Requirements

    • Educational Qualification: Diploma in Public Relations or equivalent.
    • Experience: Experience in social media management, photography, and video editing will be an advantage.
    • Skills: Creativity, writing proficiency, and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Other: A valid South African driver’s license. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence and complete a practical test using their own gadgets.

    Salary Scale: R 74,099.52 per annum.
