    ECIC-Network and Server Administrator Overview:

    • Location: Centurion, South Africa
    • Employment Type: Full-Time
    • Field: Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
    • Closing Date: Friday, 21 June 2024

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Offer technical assistance to end users concerning hardware, software, and network issues.
    • Ensure optimal functionality of network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and administration of servers, including capacity planning.
    • Monitor and manage access to the Corporation’s computer systems, servers, and network.
    • Utilize automated tools to monitor the health and performance of computer systems, servers, and network.
    • Perform backups of critical systems and data, and test disaster recovery plans for business continuity.
    • Coordinate with service providers and contractors for cybersecurity, connectivity, and hosting services.
    • Regularly patch firmware and software to mitigate vulnerabilities.
    • Assist in implementing cybersecurity controls with the Information Security and Governance Analyst.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
    • Administer and support tickets logged on the ICT service desk.
    • Provide monthly reports on service desk, computer systems, server, and network performance.

    • Enhanced availability of computer systems, servers, and network.
    • Increased customer satisfaction levels.
    • Timely resolution of incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.

    • ECIC Employees

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience and knowledge in an ICT environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
    • Preferred certifications include ITIL, MSCE, N+, A+, etc., although not mandatory.
    • Background or exposure to cybersecurity is beneficial.

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Proficient troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
    • Adaptability to change and capability to perform under pressure.
    • Skill in maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong technical and analytical aptitude.

    • Delivery: Translates business objectives into practical, prioritized, and organized action plans, ensuring safe and successful implementation.

    • Team Participation: Provides consistent and relevant input during team discussions, contributing to issue clarification and solution development.
    • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
