    The Office of the Chief Justice has announced Vacancies Circular 27, inviting applications for a range of positions within the esteemed institution. This circular outlines opportunities for qualified individuals to contribute to the judiciary’s functioning and administration.


    By joining the Office of the Chief Justice, candidates will engage in pivotal roles that support the integrity and efficiency of the judicial system, ensuring the delivery of justice and the upholding of legal standards.

    Office of the Chief Justice Vacancies Circular 27 Positions Advertised:

    1. Court Manager, Western Cape Division of the High Court (Ref No: 2024/83/OCJ)
      • Salary: R849 707 – R1 000 908 per annum.
      • Requirements: Matric, National Diploma in Management/Administration, six years of experience, valid driver’s license.
      • Duties: Strategic leadership, HR management, audit coordination, facilities and security management.
    2. Chief Registrar (3 Posts)
      • Locations: Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, Gauteng Divisions of the High Court.
      • Salary: R556 356 – R1 314 666 per annum.
      • Requirements: Matric, LLB degree, eight years of experience, valid driver’s license.
      • Duties: Case management, implementation of strategic objectives, training, stakeholder management.
    3. Senior Law Researcher (3 Posts)
      • Locations: Free State, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape Divisions of the High Court.
      • Salary: R552 081 – R650 322 per annum.
      • Requirements: Matric, LLB degree, three years of experience, valid driver’s license.
      • Duties: Legal research, HR functions, assisting judges, monitoring legal developments.
    4. Assistant Director: Security and Risk Management
      • Location: Gauteng Provincial Service Centre.
      • Salary: R444 036 – R532 602 per annum.
      • Requirements: Matric, National Diploma/Degree in Security Management, three years of supervisory experience, Grade A/B PSIRA certificate.
      • Duties: Security advisory, policy implementation, integrity management, contract management.
    5. Registrar (Multiple Positions)
      • Locations: Various courts including Labour Court, Land Court, Gauteng Division.
      • Salary: R293 847 – R1 005 801 per annum.
      • Requirements: LLB degree, legal experience (varies by position).
      • Duties: Quasi-judicial functions, case flow management, staff supervision, record management.
    6. Administration Clerk (Assets and General Administration)
      • Locations: Western Cape, Eastern Cape Divisions of the High Court.
      • Salary: R216 417 – R254 928 per annum.
      • Requirements: Matric, no experience required.
      • Duties: Asset management, court recordings, general administrative support.
    7. Usher Messenger (2 Posts)
      • Location: Eastern Cape Division of the High Court: Mthatha.
      • Salary: R155 148 – R182 757 per annum.
      • Requirements: Grade 9, no experience required.
      • Duties: Court preparation, document handling, assisting judges and advocates, general court support.
