    The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Polokwane Campus is excited to announce a Part-Time Netball Coach vacancy under the Directorate of Sport and Recreation. This seven-month contract offers a unique opportunity for passionate netball coaches who are eager to work with the TUT Netball team and play an instrumental role in their success within the federation leagues and other competitions.


    Part-Time Netball Coach Job Overview

    Key Responsibilities of the Part-Time Netball Coach

    As a Part-Time Netball Coach, you will be tasked with a variety of coaching and leadership duties, all aimed at enhancing the performance and development of the TUT Polokwane Netball team. Your key responsibilities will include:

    1. Coaching the TUT Netball Team: You will oversee the coaching of the TUT Netball Polokwane team during the federation leagues and other related competitions. This includes creating strategies for success and delivering effective coaching to improve team performance.
    2. Planning and Organizing Practice Sessions: Planning, organizing, and executing practice sessions that meet the specific needs and demands of the team will be a core part of your role. You will tailor practices to ensure that players develop their skills while maintaining a high level of team cohesion.
    3. Talent Identification and Recruitment: As part of your responsibilities, you will organize trials for identifying and recruiting new players to the team. Your ability to spot promising talent and bring them into the club will be essential for the team’s long-term success.
    4. Promoting Fair Play: Encouraging fair play within the team and during matches is essential. You will be responsible for promoting an ethical approach to the game, ensuring that players follow the rules and compete in a spirit of respect and fairness.
    5. Resolving Team Issues and Mentoring: You will be expected to resolve any conflicts within the team and offer mentorship to players. This requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build a positive, supportive environment for both players and the technical staff.
    6. Reporting on Player Development: You will provide reports on the development of players, including their performance in matches and their progress over the course of the season. This will help guide the team’s growth and ensure that players are improving and working toward their individual goals.

    Minimum Requirements

    To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

    • Matric Certificate: A high school diploma is required; a post-matric qualification will be an added advantage.
    • Coaching Accreditation: An NSA Level 1 Accreditation or higher is preferred. This shows that you have the necessary qualifications to coach at a recognized level.
    • Coaching Experience: Coaching experience at the club, district, or provincial level is required. Previous experience coaching in USSA/Super League or Provincial Competitions will be a definite advantage.
    • Proficiency in English: Strong communication skills in English are essential for working with players and fellow staff members.
    • Computer Literacy: You should be comfortable using computer software and tools for planning, reporting, and communication.
    • Driver’s License: A valid Code 8 or 10 Driver’s License is necessary for travel to matches, practices, and events.
    • No Criminal Record: All candidates must be free of any criminal record.
