    The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Receptionist.     • Report Line: Reports to the Regional Operations Manager
    • Division: Regional Operations
    • Scale Code: 406

    • Location: Eastern Cape Province, Port Elizabeth
    • Closing Date: July 29, 2024

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Operational Plan

    • Clients Liaison: Interact professionally and hospitably with clients.
    • Mail Administration: Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
    • Facilitate Access Control: Monitor and facilitate visitor access.
    • Telephonic and Interpersonal Interaction: Handle incoming calls and interact with clients.

    2. Governance, Risk and Compliance

    • Visitor Access Management: Ensure authorized sign-ins, monitor visitor access.
    • Data Accuracy: Record access data accurately for internal and external clients.
    • Information Dissemination: Provide correct information to SABC clients and the public.

    3. Administration

    • Switchboard Function: Manage incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
    • Mail/Tape Administration: Administer mail and tapes, dispatch as necessary.
    • Boardroom Bookings: Efficiently handle boardroom bookings for Sales and Marketing.

    4. Stakeholder Management

    • Professional Image: Portray a positive image of SABC through professional interactions.
    • Communication: Communicate effectively via telephone, electronic means, and in-person.
    • Client Service: Create a pleasant atmosphere for both internal and external clients.
    • Visitor Reception: Welcome visitors, determine their needs, and direct them accordingly.
    • Information Provision: Answer inquiries and address concerns professionally.

    Requirements

    Qualification

    • Grade 12 Certificate.
    • Reception Course, Customer Relations Course, or Public Relations Course.
    • Computer Literacy.

    Experience

    • Minimum 2 years of reception experience.
    • Experience with diverse clients and applicable communication etiquette.

    Knowledge

    • People-oriented with a focus on interpersonal sensitivity and resilience.
    • Strong interpersonal relations skills.
    • Problem-solving ability.
    • Operational understanding.
