Purpose of the Software Developer Job
The role focuses on researching, designing, testing, and maintaining software systems. This includes writing and coding individual programs aligned with ICT standards and enterprise architecture for government.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Software Development: Develop or customize software for client use, optimizing operational efficiency using SITA’s development stack/framework.
- System Installation: Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Specification and Coding: Produce detailed specifications and write program codes.
- System Maintenance: Maintain integrated IT software components once operational.
- Service Specifications: Develop technical service specifications for single or multiple software components.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualification: Diploma/Degree in ICT (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology, or Engineering) or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) in systems development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancements within corporate organizations.
Technical Competencies Description
- Core Knowledge Areas:
- Algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and databases.
- Java programming and web application technologies (Servlets, JSF, EL, JSP, JSTL, HTML, CSS, BootsfFaces, PrimeFaces, etc.).
- Application servers: Oracle WebLogic, WildFly, or JAVA-related servers.
- Software requirements specifications and user requirements processes.
- Virtualization and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- DevOps practices (CI/CD, Continuous Testing/Monitoring, Infrastructure as Code).
- Agile methodologies (Feature-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, Scrum, Extreme Programming).
