    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Supply Chain Management Practitioner, you will be responsible for the following:

    1. Bid Administration Function:
      • Provide support in the administration of bid processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
      • Coordinate the completion and submission of bid documentation.
    2. Departmental Procurement Plan:
      • Compile the Departmental Procurement Plan and monitor progress to ensure all procurement activities are conducted efficiently and effectively.
    3. Support Services for Specifications/Terms of Reference (TOR):
      • Assist in the development of specifications and TOR, ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with departmental objectives.
    4. Acquisition Management Service:
      • Oversee the acquisition process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services in line with relevant regulations.
    5. People Management:
      • Manage and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (or equivalent qualification).
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Supply Chain Management environment.
    • Experience in bids administration and a valid code B (or higher) driving license is highly recommended. Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply.

    Essential Competencies and Skills:

    Candidates must possess the following skills and knowledge:

    • Knowledge of:
      • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
      • National Treasury Regulations (NTRs)
      • Provincial Treasury Directives/Instructions (PTIs)
      • Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA)
      • Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)
      • General procurement activities and contract management guidelines.
    • Skills in:
      • Report writing
      • Numeracy and analytical skills
      • Decision-making and problem-solving
      • Interpersonal and communication skills
      • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite)
      • Project management and strategic planning.

    Remuneration:

    • Annual Salary: R 308 154 per annum (Salary level 7).
    • Additional benefits include medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, and other service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
