    Position Purpose

    • Develop and program new products for machining and ensure their safety for future operations.
    • Provide on-the-job training to operators to ensure continuous production and manage product output.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Job Setup:
      • Configure jobs with minimal tolerances in accordance with ISO standards.
      • Calibrate probes, set datum points, and measure bogies with precision.
    • Machine Operation:
      • Reference machine axes and set up datum points accurately.
      • Configure tool lengths and diameters; troubleshoot error codes during tool changes.
      • Set up and move machines between beds, loading programs and resolving issues related to special planes and heads.
    • Programming:
      • Write programs using the Heidenhein system and EZ-CAM, loading them onto Zayer machines.
      • Adjust parameters and programs for machine compatibility.
    • Training & Assistance:
      • Train artisans and tradespeople on CNC machines, providing skills transfer and support.
      • Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specific products.
    • Computer Operation:
      • Operate computers with Fanuc systems for programming and monitoring.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Education & Certification:
      • Qualified Turner Machinist.
      • Certificate in Heidenhein Programming.
      • Certificate in EZ-CAM Design & Programming.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 5 years working with CNC machines.
      • Extensive knowledge of the Fanuc system.

    Competencies

    • Knowledge:
      • CNC Machining (Milling and Turning).
      • Basic and advanced Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) programming.
      • Computer Literacy (MS Excel & Word).
      • Reading technical drawings and selecting appropriate tools.
    • Skills:
      • Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
      • Strong decision-making capabilities.
    • Physical Capabilities:
      • Good physical fitness and visual acuity.
