About the Artisan Assistant Positions
The City of Tshwane is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Artisan Assistant within the Fleet Operations Management section. This role is essential in supporting the repair and maintenance of city vehicles, equipment, and machinery, ensuring the smooth operation of municipal services.
Requirements
- Ability to perform duties as assigned by supervisor: The ideal candidate should be adaptable and willing to take on various tasks as directed.
- Relevant experience in a vehicle maintenance workshop will be an added advantage: Previous hands-on experience in a similar environment is beneficial.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist artisans in executing their daily tasks: Support artisans with various repair and maintenance activities.
- Assist artisans with dismantling and mounting components: Help with the removal and installation of vehicle parts.
- Tend to breakdowns: Respond to and assist in resolving vehicle breakdowns.
- Conduct general maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and machinery: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the fleet.
- Keep to safety standards as indicated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993): Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure that all equipment is used according to safety regulations: Operate tools and machinery safely and correctly.
