Amathole District Municipality Announces Senior Management Vacancies
The Amathole District Municipality, a Category C (Grade 6) municipality located on the central coast of the Eastern Cape with headquarters in East London, is seeking experienced and qualified individuals for two pivotal senior management positions: Director of Technical Services and Infrastructure Development, and Director of Corporate Services. These appointments are integral to the municipality’s mission to enhance service delivery and infrastructure development in the region.
Director of Technical Services and Infrastructure Development
Salary Package: R1,242,662 to R1,669,319 per annum
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent, plus a minimum of 7 years in senior and middle management.
Responsibilities: Strategic guidance and leadership in engineering services, infrastructure maintenance, project management, and staff performance management.
Requirements: South African citizen or permanent resident, engineering management experience, financial management certification (to be obtained within 18 months of appointment if not already held), and a valid code B driver’s license.
Director of Corporate Services
Salary Package: R1,242,662 to R1,669,319 per annum
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Public Administration/Management Sciences/Law or equivalent, with at least 7 years in senior and middle management.
Responsibilities: Overseeing human resources, administration, legal services, ICT, and council support; developing policies and ensuring compliance with legislation; budget management and staff leadership.
Requirements: South African citizen or permanent resident, successful management experience, financial management certification (to be obtained within 18 months of appointment), and a valid code B driver’s license.
