Area Coordinator Job Requirements
- Qualification: An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Behavioural Science or equivalent, recognized by SAQA.
- Certification: A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) obtained from the National School of Government (NSG) is compulsory and must be submitted before appointment.
- Experience: Five years of experience at a middle/senior managerial level in a similar environment.
- Skills: Computer literacy, a valid driver’s license, and security clearance.
- Knowledge: Understanding of the South African Criminal Justice System and the Correctional Services architecture, Public Service policy, and related legislative framework (including the Correctional Services Act 111 of 1998 as amended).

Duties
The selected candidate for the Area Coordinator position will be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage the effective health care of offenders in the management area.
- Coordinate policy on health care in the management area.
- Conduct quality assessments of health care services.
- Manage social work services in the management area.
- Coordinate policy on social work services and conduct quality assessments.
- Manage spiritual care services for offenders, coordinate policy on spiritual care, and assess the quality of religious care.
- Collate and disseminate security and corrections information.
- Implement and monitor corrections, security, and facilities policies and procedures.
- Manage human resources, finances, and assets.
- Manage performance information.
