    Key Responsibilities of a Call Centre Agent

    The Call Centre Agent will be required to carry out several duties, each designed to enhance customer experience and ensure smooth operational processes for eThekwini Municipality:

    1. Customer Service:
      • Providing prompt and efficient service for all customer queries related to revenue services.
      • Offering relevant information on the various services provided by the municipality.
      • Assisting customers in understanding billing processes and service offerings.
    2. Administrative Functions:
      • Processing registrations for new and existing municipal customers.
      • Handling the termination of services for existing customers.
      • Managing name change requests and property registration inquiries.
      • Addressing changes to the valuation roll and property-related concerns.
    3. Policy and Process Improvement:
      • Contributing to the development of policies and initiatives aimed at maintaining high service standards and improving customer experiences.
      • Adhering to the contact centre culture and utilizing technology for efficient service delivery.
    4. eServices Registration:
      • Helping customers register and create profiles on eThekwini Municipality’s eServices platform.

    As a Call Centre Agent, you will be expected to possess a variety of competencies that ensure effective communication, customer care, and problem-solving. These include:

    • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in processing customer requests and ensuring proper documentation.
    • Ethics and Professionalism: Displaying high standards of integrity and professionalism when dealing with clients.
    • Organizational Awareness: Understanding the structure and functions of eThekwini Municipality and how they impact your role.
    • Problem Solving: Ability to effectively address and resolve customer issues and queries.
    • Client Orientation and Customer Focus: Prioritizing customer satisfaction and providing an excellent service experience.

    Essential Requirements

    To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

    • Educational Qualification: A Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification.
    • Relevant Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in a customer service or administrative role.
    • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computers and various software applications for administrative tasks.

    Preferred Requirements

    • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a relevant customer service or administrative position.
