1. EMS Station Manager (Grade 3-6)

Salary Range:
- Grade 3: R376,596 – R430,596 per annum
- Grade 4: R455,079 – R520,023 per annum
- Grade 5: R532,815 – R575,601 per annum

Job Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) / Emergency Care Technician (ECT) / Critical Care Assistant (CCA) Certificate.
- National Diploma in Emergency Medical Care / Bachelor of Technology in Emergency Medical Care.
- Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience after registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an AEA / ECT / Paramedic / Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP).
- Licensing:
- Valid Code C1 driver’s license with an unendorsed Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Additional Qualification: A Diploma in Management or higher will be an added advantage.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous supervisory experience or qualification.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Policy and Financial Management.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle excessive hours.
- Preparedness to travel and attend to emergencies after hours.
- Knowledge of Labour Relations.
- Computer literacy.
- Good interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
Duties:
- Manage general office administration and Human Resource Management.
- Oversee all EMS activities within the station and ensure adherence to policies.
- Manage fleet operations, ensuring maintenance and repairs are conducted as per the Transport Policy.
- Monitor and control inventory at the station.
- Maintain occupational health and safety standards.
- Respond to major incidents to assist and coordinate operations within the designated area.
- Investigate service complaints and report findings to the District Manager.
2. Emergency Care Officer (Grade 3)

- Salary Range: R206,619 – R271,584 per annum
- Centres: Evander EMS Station and Piet Retief EMS Station (Gert Sibande District)
Job Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Ambulance Emergency Assistant certificate.
- Registration:
- Registration with the HPCSA as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant (2024).
- Licensing:
- Unendorsed driver’s license (C1) and valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in Intermediate Life Support (ILS) Protocols.
- Understanding of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and its operations.
- Basic knowledge of medical rescue procedures.
- Understanding of Road Traffic Ordinance rules and regulations.
- Good communication skills and practical patient management skills.
- Ability to implement emergency procedures and work under pressure.
- Willingness to operate in various EMS environments (ambulance, inter-facility transport, communication centres, etc.).
Duties:
- Provide pre-hospital treatment and transport patients according to ILS protocols as per HPCSA standards.
- Respond to emergency calls dispatched by the Communication Centre.
- Maintain best clinical practices in line with quality standards and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Perform regular checks on vehicles and medical equipment, complete checklists, and report discrepancies.
- Clean and disinfect vehicles and equipment, ensuring all items are in good working order.
- Replenish medical supplies before expiry and maintain station cleanliness.
- Participate actively in training and quality assurance programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
