Key Responsibilities
As a fieldworker at NCDRU, you will play a crucial role in supporting research studies focused on non-communicable diseases. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring compliance with study protocols
- Working with clinic staff to identify potential study participants
- Conducting screening and recruitment interviews
- Providing motivational counseling to study participants
- Administering questionnaires
- Recruiting and tracking study participants
- Performing general project administrative tasks, including quality assurance, data entry, supply control, and daily reporting
- Assisting project staff members with various tasks as needed
- Working independently as well as part of a team
- Meeting recruitment targets
Requirements
To be considered for this Fieldworkers role, you must meet the following core requirements:
- A Matric certificate
- At least two years of fieldwork experience, specifically in clinic-based recruitment
- Fluency in Afrikaans or isiXhosa, in addition to English
- Experience conducting fieldwork for health research projects
- A valid driver’s license and active driving experience
- Proficiency in computer skills
Added Advantage
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience will be advantageous:
- 5 to 10 years of fieldwork experience
- Experience working in a research setting, including recruiting participants and conducting other fieldwork activities for clinic-based research projects
- Previous counseling experience
