    1. Chief Financial Investigator (Pretoria, Head Office)

    • Salary: R1 216 824 per annum (SMS Level 13)
    • Reference No: Recruit 2024/249
    • Requirements: A B-degree or advanced diploma in forensic investigations or auditing, criminal investigation, or an equivalent qualification. CFE or FP (SA) accreditation is advantageous.
    • Duties: Managing financial investigations, overseeing stakeholder relations, managing national financial investigative projects, and providing expert testimony in court.

    2. Senior State Advocate (Various Locations)

    • Salary: R1 132 806 – R1 762 857 per annum (LP-9)
    • Reference No: Recruit 2024/250 (Pretoria), Recruit 2024/251 (Mbombela), Recruit 2024/252 (Cape Town)
    • Requirements: LLB or equivalent legal qualification, at least eight years post-qualification legal experience in civil and/or criminal litigation.
    • Duties: Conduct prosecution of complex commercial crime cases, prepare legal documents for court, and guide investigations.

    3. Senior Public Prosecutor (Port Elizabeth)

    • Salary: R1 132 806 – R1 762 857 per annum (Level CM-1)
    • Reference No: Recruit 2024/255
    • Requirements: LLB or appropriate legal qualification, at least eight years post-qualification legal experience. Strong management skills and the ability to act independently.
    • Duties: Managing and supervising prosecutors, guiding investigations, preparing case dockets, and conducting criminal prosecutions.

    4. Administrative Clerk (Supervisor) (Pretoria, Head Office)

    • Salary: R308 154 per annum (Level 07)
    • Reference No: Recruit 2024/261
    • Requirements: Relevant B Degree or Diploma, minimum two years of experience in administration.
    • Duties: Supervising and rendering clerical support services, managing facilities, fleet, and human resources.

    How to Apply

    To apply for any of the National Prosecuting Authority vacancies, you must follow these essential steps:

    1. Complete the Z83 Form: Applications must be submitted using the latest Z83 form, Download Z83 Application Form
      • The form must be filled out in block letters.
      • Handwritten forms are accepted but must be legible.
    2. Submit a Comprehensive CV: Along with the Z83 form, applicants must submit a detailed CV. This document should highlight your qualifications, experience, and personal information.
    3. Qualifications: Shortlisted candidates will need to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other relevant documents. For those with foreign qualifications, you must include an evaluation report issued by SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority).
    4. Electronic Submission: All applications must be submitted via email to the relevant recruitment email address provided for each position. Applications sent via postal mail or other methods will not be accepted. Ensure your documents are not password protected or compressed in ZIP files.
    5. Deadlines and Response: Applications must reach the NPA by 1 October 2024. If you do not hear from the NPA within six months of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
    6. Pre-Entry Requirements for Senior Management: Applicants for SMS positions must complete a pre-entry certificate from the National School of Government (NSG) before being considered for appointment. This training program, the Certificate for Entry into SMS, is available on the NSG website.

    Important Considerations

    • Security Clearance: Successful candidates will be subject to a security clearance. This includes a lifestyle audit and integrity vetting for positions in the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption.
    • Valid Driver’s License: For some positions, like Senior State Advocate, a valid driver’s license is required.
    • Social Media Screening: The NPA reserves the right to access the social media accounts of shortlisted candidates as part of its verification process.
