    Walk-in Centre Manager Job Overview

    • Job Title: Manager: Walk-in Centre
    • Department: Service Delivery Coordination Department (SDCD)
    • Location: City of Ekurhuleni
    • Remuneration: R 818,387 to R 1,100,378 – Total cost to company
    • Assignment Type: Fixed Term Contract

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Relevant Accredited Business Degree
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience at management level in a similar environment within local government
    • A Municipal Finance Management Programme (NQF Level 5) will be an added advantage
    • Strong operational planning and reporting skills
    • Knowledge of information management systems
    • Ability to drive service delivery innovation

    Core Responsibilities

    The Walk-in Centre Manager will play a key leadership role by implementing strategies to improve operations and ensure customer satisfaction. Your key duties include:

    1. Strategic Leadership and Capability

    • Implement leadership practices to manage a functional unit.
    • Deliver objectives within specified time frames and budgets.

    2. Operational Process Management

    • Ensure compliance with policies, laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Drive service delivery improvements and assess their effectiveness.

    3. Governance and Risk Management

    • Maintain sound governance practices to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
    • Proactively manage risks to avoid incidents of non-compliance.

    4. Financial Management

    • Oversee financial processes for cost efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
    • Maximize financial resources to achieve departmental objectives.

    5. Customer Service Excellence

    • Lead operations aligned with Batho Pele principles (People First).
    • Enhance the customer service orientation within the division.

    6. People Management

    • Lead and mentor teams to achieve operational goals.
    • Clarify roles, manage performance, and cultivate an aligned team culture.

    7. Stakeholder Management

    • Foster strong internal and external relationships.
    • Coordinate effective stakeholder engagement programmes.

    8. Excellence Culture

    • Promote innovation and customer-centric operations.
    • Encourage enduring and rewarding relationships with all stakeholders.

    Performance Contract

    The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract, ensuring accountability and alignment with Council resolutions.
