Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications and experience levels:
Educational Qualification
- A qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
Experience Levels
- Grade 1: No experience required after registration with SANC. This is applicable to South African-qualified employees who have completed their mandatory community service.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate or recognizable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ appropriate or recognizable experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary.
Registration
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant is mandatory.

Core Responsibilities
As a Nursing Assistant at Tokollo Hospital, your duties will include:
- Patient Care:
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination processes.
- Providing physical care and maintaining hygiene for patients.
- Elementary Nursing Support:
- Delivering basic clinical nursing care, including measuring, interpreting, and recording vital signs.
- Assisting professional nurses with clinical procedures such as administering oral medication.
- Operational Support:
- Preparing patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures.
- Operating relevant apparatus and equipment safely and effectively.
