Job Responsibilities
Coordinate and Implement Departmental Campaigns
As a Communications Officer at Gfleet, one of your key responsibilities will be to assist in the development and management of departmental campaigns. This involves providing support in the planning and implementation of various departmental events and marketing activities, as well as developing strategies to guide these efforts. You will also help in the production of promotional and marketing collaterals to raise awareness about the department’s projects and initiatives.
Internal and External Event Coordination
Another significant aspect of this role will involve coordinating internal and external events for the department. This includes maintaining a calendar of events, planning and coordinating G-Fleet’s participation in exhibitions, and helping with branding during these events. The role will also require you to assess the impact of each event by conducting post-event evaluations.
Additionally, you will assist in arranging special events and liaise with various departments to ensure all logistics and event requirements are met.
Stakeholder Management and Engagement
As a key member of the communications team, you will assist with the implementation of stakeholder management strategies. You will also coordinate stakeholder meetings, promote relations with relevant stakeholders, and provide communication services across the department. Your role will be essential in fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they are informed and engaged in the department’s activities.
Requirements for the Communications Officer Position
Qualifications
- An NQF Level 6 or 7 qualification in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field as recognized by SAQA.
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in communications or public relations.
Additional Requirements
- A valid Code 8 driver’s license.
Key Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to coordinate events and campaigns effectively.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and management.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
