    Purpose of the Administrative Officer Role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering comprehensive administrative support services to the component, ensuring smooth operations and effective facility management. By maintaining effective systems and processes, the Administrative Officer will contribute to the overall effectiveness and productivity of the department, ensuring its ability to deliver essential services to the community.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

    • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma, B-degree, or higher).
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience in administration.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Administrative Officer will handle a variety of critical functions, including:

    1. Office Administration and Management Support:
      • Managing general enquiries and component correspondences.
      • Maintaining and controlling leave records and the asset register.
    2. Budget Support:
      • Assisting with budget expenditure compilation and completing the In-Year Monitoring (IYM).
    3. Monitoring and Evaluation:
      • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of networks and service providers.

    Required Competencies

    Applicants should possess the following skills and knowledge:

    • Knowledge of:
      • Government systems and policies.
      • The Constitution and legal frameworks governing the public sector.
    • Skills:
      • Problem-solving and decision-making.
      • Creative thinking and analytical abilities.
      • Strong planning, organizing, and conceptual skills.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication.
      • Proficiency in computer literacy.

    Remuneration and Benefits

    This position offers a competitive annual salary of R376,413. Qualifying employees are also eligible for service benefits, including medical assistance, housing assistance, and pension-fund contributions, as per the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
