Untunjambili Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Nurse Practitioner to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating, overseeing, and managing the delivery of comprehensive Primary Health Care (PHC) services in High Transmission Area (HTA) sites. Salary:
- Grade 1: R431,265 per annum
- Grade 2: R528,696 per annum
Other Benefits: 13th cheque, home owner’s allowance (employee must meet prescribed requirements), medical aid (optional), and 8% rural allowance
Requirements
Education:
- Senior Certificate
- Degree/Diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery, plus 1-year post basic qualification in Primary Health Care
Registration: Registered with SANC as General Nurse, Midwife, and Primary Health Care Nurse
Computer Literacy: MS Software
Driver’s License: Valid code 08 or code 10
Grade 1 Requirements:
- Grade 12 or Senior Certificate
- Minimum of 4 years appropriate recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing
- One year Post Basic Qualification in Primary Health Care
Grade 2 Requirements:
- Minimum of 14 years appropriate recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing, of which at least 10 years must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care
- One year Post Basic Qualification in Primary Health Care
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and guidelines, including scientific nursing and nursing principles
- Good interpersonal relationship skills and effective communication
- Problem-solving, coordination, and planning skills
- Ability to formulate patient care-related policies
- Team building and supervisory skills
Duties
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage the delivery of comprehensive PHC services in HTA sites
- Conduct community dialogues and awareness campaigns
- Participate in Operation Sukuma Sakhe initiatives
- Ensure the safekeeping and proper utilization of medical equipment and pharmaceutical and surgical stock
- Induction, training, and monitoring of support and nursing staff
- Provide direct and indirect supervision and guidance to support and nursing staff
- Identify high transmission areas for HIV, TB, STIs, and other communicable diseases
- Collaborate with other governmental departments, civil society, and non-governmental organizations
- Assist in the implementation of differentiated models of care
- Flexibility to work in different shifts to increase access to health services
