The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) continues to make great strides in alleviating poverty in South Africa by providing a lifeline to the most vulnerable in society through the Covid-19 R350 SRD grant. In this article we will be sharing SASSA R350 August Payment Dates.
This grant has been introduced to citizens who are failing to meet their daily needs. According to statistics approximately 60% of applicants who apply for the Covid-19 SRD grant are youth. This correlates with the unemployment rate amongst youth which is approximately 63%. Of all the applicants (youth and non-youth), approximately 5% hold tertiary qualifications.
SASSA has been working tirelessly to process the applications they have received and as of 19 July 2022, approximately 5 298 817 applications were approved, and 4 088 873 of those have received payment.
SASSA R350 August Payment Dates
If you are a SASSA beneficiary and wondering when you will be receiving your payment, worry not because if your status is approved for August, then your money is on the way.
SASSA has not specified the exact dates on which payments will be released but, beneficiaries can be expectant as the agency will commence the payment rollout.
As we start a new month, SASSA will be issuing payments to the August approved beneficiaries in mid-August.
SASSA continues to remind aspiring applicants that the COVID-19 SRD applications are strictly done online and not at SASSA offices.
If your application has been declined, you may submit an appeal through the DSD Independent Tribunal Website https://srd.dsd.gov.za. The Independent Tribunal will review and inform you of the outcome of your appeal electronically, within 60 – 90 days from the lodging of the appeal.

The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is administered in terms of section 32 of the Social Assistance Act, 2004 (Act No. 13 of 2004) and is implemented with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance. The Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD Grant) is meant for South African Citizens, Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Special Permit Holders who are between the ages of 18 and 60 years, who have insufficient means, who do not receive social grants on behalf of herself/ himself or who are not contributing to or eligible for UIF payment, and have no financial support from any other source.
