Salary Package:
- Grade 1: R1 214 805 per annum
- Grade 2: R1 386 069 per annum
- Grade 3: R1 605 330 per annum
The comprehensive package includes 70% basic salary and a flexible portion of 30%, structurable as per applicable rules. Additionally, Commuted Overtime is provided based on departmental needs, with incumbents required to sign an annual contract.
Requirements:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
- MBCHB or Equivalent
- MMed MMed (Sci)
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Specialist in Internal Medicine
- Grade 1: Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Internal Medicine
- Grade 2: 5 years of appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist
- Grade 3: 10 years of appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist
- Recommendation: Experience or Interest in a medical subspecialty
Skills and Abilities:
- Competent general medical skills for the specialist level in Internal Medicine
- Ability and willingness to develop skills in various Internal Medicine subspecialties
- Supervision and training capabilities for junior staff, undergraduates, postgraduates, and nursing staff
- Application of public sector and health sector legislation, medical ethics, and research ethics
- Participation in information management, quality assurance programs, and human resource management
- Financial and equipment management of relevant resources as appropriate to the post
Duties:
- Clinical Duties: Assist or manage subspecialty services, participate in after-hours Internal Medicine service, and perform outreach services in Area 2.
- Academic Duties: Supervision and training of medical professionals, including outpatient clinics, ward rounds, and procedural teaching.
- Administrative and Managerial Responsibilities: Assist with clinical service administration, junior staff supervision, and administration. Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, participate in audits and quality assurance programs.
