New and continuing student can still submit their NSFAS applications for 2023!
Good News! Students who need funding for the 2023 academic year can still submit their applications before the 31st of January 2023. The Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr. Blade Nzimande posted on his Twitter account:
Students who wish to be funded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in the 2023 academic year are urged to submit their applications with all required supporting documents no later than 31 January 2023.
NSFAS Applications for 2023 Requirements
Remember to apply you will need the following:
- Copy of your ID or birth certificate.
- Copy of your parent(s)/ guardian/ spouse ID.
- If you have a smart card both sides of the card are required.
- Proof of income (where applicable).
- persons living with disability should complete their disability annexure A form, which is available on the NSFAS website.
- If you are recognized as a vulnerable child by the Department of Social Development, you must provide a completed vulnerable child declaration form completed by a social worker.
- If you indicate that you don’t have certain family member details and or an abridged birth certificate, you must complete the declaration: Non SASSA.
The system will generate a list of required documents for upload based on your application.
