1. Local Office Manager (Umzimkhulu Local Office)
- Salary: R1 003 890.00 – R1 182 534.00 per annum (inclusive of benefits)
- Location: Umzimkhulu Local Office (Ref No: G8/2024)
Minimum Requirements:
- A B degree or a 3-year tertiary qualification with 1-2 years of relevant management experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SASSA’s Constitutional mandate, relevant policies, legislation, and relationships with National and other stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of social security and poverty alleviation issues, particularly within the district’s demographic context.
- Essential skills include computer literacy and a valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities: As the Local Office Manager, you will oversee the management of all resources associated with the division. Your role will include:
- Managing and monitoring the implementation of grants administration policies and legislation.
- Promoting access to social security services.
- Ensuring data integrity and the development of pay points.
- Managing performance within the unit and providing operational support.
- Offering guidance to the District Senior Manager and other Local Office Managers within the district.
- Coordinating both generic and functional training within the district.
- Overseeing the financial, human capital, and other resources allocated to the unit.
- Ensuring the implementation of service delivery and client relations improvement models.

2. Administrative Officer (Umlazi Local Office)
- Salary: R308 154.00 – R362 994.00 per annum (exclusive of benefits)

Minimum Requirements:
- A Senior Certificate plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) or NQF level 7 with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Essential skills include computer literacy and a valid driver’s license (the successful candidate will be expected to drive).
Key Responsibilities: As an Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Monitoring and ensuring the maintenance of logbooks for pool vehicles.
- Implementing and maintaining appropriate registers.
- Ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Facilitating the accurate and timely submission of HR documents to the District office.
- Managing the implementation and maintenance of a filing system aligned with SASSA’s master file plan.
- Representing the Local Office in various meetings, forums, and committees.
- Assisting with the arrangement of meetings, special events, or awareness campaigns.
- Managing procurement processes, including obtaining quotations, writing motivations, and ensuring adherence to the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA, Chapter 6, Part 3).

3. Grants Administrator (Mooi River Local Office)

Minimum Requirements:
- A Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4).
- Computer literacy is essential.
- A valid driver’s license and/or administrative/clerical experience will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will assist in the administration of social grants at the local office level. Your duties will include:
- Screening all grant applications effectively.
- Capturing applications on the system.
- Providing customer care.
- Processing other grant documentation and performing other grants administration functions.
- Conducting quality control on grant applications and ensuring adherence to the PFMA.
