Minimum Requirements

Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Management Clerk: Asset Management will perform essential clerical duties that support the department’s asset management function. Some of the key duties include:
- Assisting in the maintenance of asset registers.
- Supporting the BAS/Logis Monthly Reconciliations.
- Identifying and administering redundant, non-serviceable, and obsolete assets for disposal.
- Requesting and receiving quotations for asset acquisitions and disposals.
- Monitoring and analysing asset and disposal management processes.
- Providing support to line functions within the department.
This role will require attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to handle confidential data efficiently.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Asset Management Clerical Tasks: Assisting in the day-to-day clerical tasks involved in asset management.
- Update and Maintain Asset Registers: Keeping records of all assets up-to-date and ensuring that no assets are omitted or incorrectly documented.
- Assist with BAS/Logis Monthly Reconciliations: Ensuring that financial records related to assets are accurate and reconciled every month.
- Administer Redundant and Obsolete Assets: Identifying and managing assets that are no longer serviceable and preparing them for disposal.
- Request and Receive Quotations: For both asset acquisitions and disposals, ensuring the department gets the best value for money.
- Monitor and Analyse Asset Management: Observing trends, potential issues, and ensuring that assets are managed properly throughout their life cycle.

Competencies Required

- Proficiency in SCM Practices: Experience with supply chain management practices, including procurement and document management systems.
- B-BBEE and Preferential Procurement Policies: Understanding of B-BBEE requirements and the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) and associated regulations.
