Minimum Requirements for Applicants
To qualify for these positions, you need to meet the following minimum criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- A Matric/Grade 12 Certificate is required.
- N6 Certificate/National N Diploma in Business Studies or Engineering Studies, or any other relevant qualification, is also necessary.
- Preferred Applicants:
- The college is open to considering unemployed and/or retired teachers or lecturers for these positions.
- Preference will be given to graduates of Western TVET College.
- Physical Fitness:
- You must be medically fit to stand and walk for the duration of the exam session.
- Trustworthiness:
- All applicants must be trustworthy and will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement to protect the confidentiality of the examination process.
- Additional Requirements:
- No candidate currently involved in an internship or learnership program will be considered for these posts.

Key Responsibilities of the Role
As an invigilator, your duties will be aligned with the National Examinations guidelines as stipulated in Government Gazette, Vol. 507, No. 30287 of 12 September 2007. Your core responsibilities include:
- Managing the Examination Venue: You will be responsible for supervising the examination at the venue and ensuring that all regulations are adhered to.
- Complete Availability: Invigilators are expected to be present for the entire duration of each examination session. Sessions may be scheduled from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, with a typical session lasting about 5 hours.
- Support and Administration:
- Distribute examination materials to candidates.
- Collect and ensure the safe return of all examination papers and materials.
- Ensure that candidates adhere to all exam guidelines.
- Professional Conduct: You will need to exhibit methodical and detail-oriented behavior, ensuring high accuracy in all tasks. Invigilators should also communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and work collaboratively with the college’s management and other team members.
- Problem-Solving and Time Management: You will be expected to manage workloads efficiently, prioritize tasks, and maintain high performance even under pressure. Additionally, good time management skills are crucial, as is the ability to identify areas where administrative procedures can be improved.
