The primary goal of the Supply Chain Officer is to execute professional and compliant procurement processes. Key Responsibilities
- Administration: Under the guidance of the Finance and Administration Manager, administer the SACSSP’s supply chain processes effectively and efficiently.
- Process Development: Develop and review supply chain processes and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant.
- Procurement Planning: Coordinate and consolidate the organisational annual procurement plan.
- Tender Management: Administer processes related to tenders and calls for proposals, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to the SACSSP’s supply chain management.
- Documentation and Records: Generate and maintain all procurement documentation, purchase orders, and supplier records.
- Payments: Prepare payment requests and collect necessary documents to facilitate timely payments.
- Contract Management: Oversee the management of contracts and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Support: Provide administrative and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Asset Management: Maintain an up-to-date asset register.
- Audit Support: Assist with the annual external audit.
- Meetings: Attend various meetings as required, representing the supply chain function.

- Legislation and Policy Knowledge: Understanding of procurement-related legislation and policies, including the Public Finance Management Act, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act, and Treasury Regulations.
- Social Service Professions Act: Basic knowledge of the Social Service Professions Act and related regulations.

- Computer Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
- SAGE Evolution: Knowledge of SAGE Evolution will be an advantage.
