Key Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to:
- Independently identify and pilot cases to evaluate whether regional implementation may be recommended.
- Plan and conduct verifications as well as limited scope audits across multiple tax types and periods.
- Ensure that audit outcomes align with SARS’ objective of promoting voluntary compliance and enhancing revenue collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance and Verification:
- Conduct multiple tax audits and verifications based on a risk profile.
- Accurately identify opportunities for revenue protection and enhancement.
- Resolve queries and problems effectively while adhering to procedural guidelines.
- Process Improvement:
- Provide input through specialist investigation and product risk optimization.
- Plan for value-added process improvements to achieve operational strategy objectives.
- Execute changes in processes and procedures, providing support and guidance for new requirements.
- Governance and Ethics:
- Contribute to the development of governance, compliance, integrity, and ethics processes.

Requirements
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or Audit (NQF7) AND 5-7 years of experience in a Taxation, Tax Audit, or Tax Consulting environment, of which 2-3 years must be at a functional Tax Audit level.
Alternative Qualification
- Senior Certificate (NQF4) AND 10 years of experience in a Taxation, Tax Audit, or Tax Consulting environment, of which 2-3 years must be at a functional Tax Audit level.
