Job Purpose
As a Supply Chain Management Practitioner within the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the procurement of goods and services is carried out effectively and efficiently. This will be done in accordance with constitutional principles and legislation guiding public sector procurement. You will be part of a team responsible for driving transparent and ethical supply chain management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Administration: You will manage the bid administration process, ensuring that all procurement activities adhere to the required regulations and guidelines.
- Procurement Planning: Compilation and monitoring of the Departmental Procurement Plan are key duties, ensuring that procurement activities are well-coordinated and aligned with departmental goals.
- Development of Specifications: You will support the development of procurement specifications or Terms of Reference (TOR) to guide the acquisition of goods and services.
- Acquisition Management Services: Oversee the acquisition processes, ensuring adherence to public procurement standards.
- People Management: Manage and guide junior staff within the procurement unit, ensuring compliance with departmental processes and performance standards.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (or equivalent higher qualification) is required.
- Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience in a Supply Chain Management environment is essential.
- Driving License: A valid code B (or higher) driving license is recommended. However, persons with disabilities who have reasonable access to transportation are encouraged to apply.
