Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to take responsibility for all Writing Centre programmes and interventions in a faculty, including any other responsibilities that the Writing Centre Coordinator may deem necessary.
Key Activities
The Writing Centre Facilitator will be responsible for the following activities:
- Planning and Implementation:
- Plan, implement, and assess Writing Centre programmes and interventions for a faculty.
- Coordinate faculty-specific Writing Centre operations.
- Organizational Duties:
- Organize and manage all Writing Centre activities and initiatives.
- Implement and maintain Writing Centre systems to ensure smooth functioning.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support for Writing Centre initiatives and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in budgeting, report writing, and other administrative duties.
- Event Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate events related to the Writing Centre, such as writing workshops and training sessions.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Honours Degree in one of the following fields:
- Education
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Science
- Commerce
- Law
- Administration
- Communication
- English / Linguistics
- Honours Degree in one of the following fields:
- Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position or equivalent.
- At least three (3) years of experience in higher education, specifically in student development and/or staff support.
