At least 5 years’ experience after qualifying in Primary Health care Specialty – NIMART trained and Primary Health Care Reengineering highly recommended Skills and Knowledge: Qualification in Psychiatry, Nursing Management/ Administration/ Health Care Management and Nursing Education, Diploma in Primary Health Care. Ability to function at different levels of care related to the specialty qualified for. In depth knowledge and understanding of Health-related Acts, Regulations, Guidelines and other related policies such as; Nursing Act and Regulations, Health Act, Code of Ethics, Professional Scope of Practice Act Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mental Health Care Act. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service including: Skills Development Act, Public Development Act, Public Service Regulations, Labour Relations Act, Grievance Procedure and Disciplinary Code Procedures.
Duties
Ensure that holistic nursing care service is delivered to patients in a cost effective, efficient and equitable manner by the Head of Nursing Service of the Institution including the overall management (i.e. Operational HR and Finance thereof. Ensure compliance to professional and ethical practices. Develop and monitor the implementation of policies, programmes, regulations, practices, procedures and standards pertaining to nursing care. Provide guidance and leadership towards the realization of strategic goals and objectives of the division.
