Grade 1: National Senior Certificate, Successful completion of an appropriate Basic Life Support (BLS) course that allows registration with HPCSA as Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA). Registration with the HPCSA as BAA. None after registration with the HPCSA as BAA. Grade 3: Successful completion of an appropriate Intermediate Life Support (ILS) course that allows registration with HPCSA as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA). Registration with the HPCSA as AEA. Experience: None after registration with HPCSA as AEA. Current registration with the HPCSA 2026/2027. A valid code 10 driver’s license with PDP. Knowledge And Skills: Knowledge of Basic Life Support protocols. Knowledge of Intermediate Life Support protocols.
Duties
Render Emergency Medical Care and Transportation of the sick and injured according to HPCSA protocols. Handle Basic administration, patient records, vehicles checklists, log sheets and other necessary administrative duties. Maintain and clean all equipment, vehicles and base station. Undertake inter – facility transfers of patients. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The successful candidate must disclose to the Head of Department particulars of all registrable financial interests, sign a performance agreement and employment contract with the Head of Department within three months from the date of assumption of duty. Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered.
