ICASA, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa, is seeking two Accounts Payable Officers to join their Finance Department. These permanent positions are based at ICASA’s Head Office in Eco Park, Centurion, and offer a competitive total annual package (CTC) ranging from R278 060.00 to R327 129.00.
Purpose of the Accounts Payable Officer Role
The Accounts Payable Officers will play a crucial role in processing invoices and payments for suppliers and service providers, ensuring that ICASA adheres to the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National Treasury Regulations. These roles are integral to maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Supervisor: Accounts Payable, the successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Timely Payment Processing: Ensuring payments to service providers are processed promptly.
- Contract and Monthly Payments: Monitoring and following up on recurring payments.
- Invoice Management: Ensuring invoices are paid on time.
- Monthly Statements: Obtaining and reviewing supplier statements at month-end.
- Ledger Reconciliation: Preparing monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Account Compliance: Reviewing supplier and expense accounts for compliance during month-end and year-end processes.
- Supplier Account Management: Keeping supplier accounts updated and accurate.
- Audit Support: Assisting internal and external auditors with requested financial information.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: Accounting or Finance Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5).
- Preferred Qualification: Accounting or Finance Degree (NQF Level 7).
- Work Experience: At least 4 years of experience in the Finance sector, with 2 years specifically in accounts payable.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel and experience with JDE systems will be advantageous.
