Requirements for Application
To be considered for the Assistant Director positions in UI Operations, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in Operations Management, Public Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Administration Management, Public Relations Management, or Financial Management.
- Experience: A minimum of four years of experience, with at least two years in an operations environment and two years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge: Applicants should be well-versed in the Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA), Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA), Treasury Regulations, Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Public Service Regulation (PSR), Public Service Act (PSA), and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Skills: Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), computer literacy, time management, customer relations, people management, report writing, and supervisory skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidates for the Assistant Director positions will be responsible for various operational tasks, including:
- Facilitating employer services within the province.
- Coordinating the assessment, validation, and adjudication of claims.
- Managing registry services in the province.
- Handling local appeals and complaints.
- Providing general support and managing resources within the unit.
