Purpose of the Role
The Associate Customer Engineer will report to the Lead: Business Support and will be responsible for providing IT end-user support to both internal and external users of RAF’s ICT services. This role is essential in ensuring that IT services are accessible and functional across various departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Service Accessibility
- Handle IT incidents and requests from internal and external users.
- Set up and configure new IT equipment.
- Implement preventative measures to reduce future IT issues.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations when setting up IT systems.
2. Desktop Support
- Provide software and hardware configuration according to business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and conduct system maintenance and upgrades.
- Perform repairs on damaged IT hardware.
3. Multifunctional Devices (MFD) & Scanner Management
- Set up connections and access for MFDs and scanners.
- Log and escalate technical issues to Senior Officers.
- Oversee the replacement of consumables in processing centers.
4. Network & Telephone Support
- Replace faulty network devices.
- Provide first-line support for telephone infrastructure.
5. IT Asset Management
- Conduct hardware and software audits.
- Perform bi-annual asset verification to ensure IT inventory accuracy.
6. Audio-Visual (AV) Support
- Handle AV-related service requests.
- Provide first-line AV troubleshooting and escalate where necessary.
7. Reporting
- Contribute data and insights to IT operations reports.
Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- National Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- Microsoft 365 Certification (any) – Advantageous.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Foundational Certification – Advantageous.
Work Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in system support.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating IT tasks.
- Judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong ethics and values.
- Client service orientation – ability to provide excellent IT support.
- Knowledge of Citrix – Advantageous.
- Willingness to travel and work extra hours when required.
- Experience with LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with RAF’s ICT technology landscape.
