Minimum Requirements
- Qualification:
An M+3 tertiary qualification in Financial Accounting or a finance-related field. - Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in Financial Accounting, preferably in a large organization.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in budgeting.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
To excel in this role, the candidate should have a strong foundation in the following areas:
- VAT and Tax Legislation: Understanding and applying relevant tax laws.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a range of finance-related duties as directed by the Deputy Dean and the Finance Team. Key responsibilities include:
General Ledger and Requisition Management
- Processing and general ledger allocations of purchase requisitions.
- Ensuring financial rules and procedures are adhered to.
- Handling requisitions according to procedures, including foreign currency processing when required.
- Managing claims for examiners, moderators, and lecturers.
Financial Reporting and Customer Support
- Preparing and managing budget reports specifically for the DUT Business School.
- Handling queries related to reports and providing timely responses.
- Maintaining accurate data and ensuring all financial records are up to date.
Team Collaboration and Development
- Coordinating capital budgets with the Director.
- Assisting with special projects and preparing detailed reports as requested.
- Managing professional self-development opportunities.
Key Objectives and Deliverables
- Submit budget reports within required timeframes.
