Engineering Technologist Production Job Requirements
- Qualification: Bachelor of Technology in Engineering (B Tech) or relevant qualification.
- Experience: Three years of post-qualification engineering technologist experience.
- Registration: Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist.
- Driver’s License: Valid unexpired driver’s license.
- Skills: Programme and project management, technical design and analysis, research and development, computer-aided engineering applications, legal compliance, technical report writing, networking, problem-solving, decision-making, team leadership, creativity, self-management, customer focus, responsiveness, good communication (verbal and written), planning, organizing, and people management.
Key Duties
The successful candidate for the Engineering Technologist Production position will be responsible for the following duties:
- Advisory Services: Provide technological advisory services and procurement administration for the appointment of professional service providers (PSPs).
- Contract Administration: Manage technical contract administration services in conjunction with technologists and engineers.
- Safety Promotion: Ensure the promotion of safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Evaluate existing technical manuals, standard drawings, contract administration guidelines, and procedures. Incorporate new knowledge and technology in contract administration.
- Database Development: Ensure the development and implementation of a contracts database.
- Tender Documents: Assist with the coordination, compilation, and structuring of tender documents in line with the CIDB (Best Practice Guideline).
