Job Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Must possess an NQF level 08 qualification in Agriculture.
- Professional Registration: Registration with SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions) is required, or proof of application must be submitted.
- Driving License: A valid driver’s license is essential.
- Knowledge Requirements:
- Profound understanding of the RSA Constitution.
- Familiarity with the White Paper on Agriculture for KZN.
- Knowledge of the Strategy for Agrarian Transformation in KZN.
- Awareness of agricultural and regulatory frameworks applicable in the region.
- Skill Set:
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
- Competence in project management.
- Effective communication abilities.
- High level of computer literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scientific and Technical Advisory: Provide expert advice to both internal and external clients to promote sustainable agricultural practices.
- Support for Organized Agriculture: Assist in the planning, advising, and after-care of organized agricultural initiatives.
- Project Participation: Engage in key agricultural projects such as the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) and the Land Reform Agricultural Development (LRAD).
- Research Engagement: Participate in agricultural research activities under the guidance of senior advisors.
- Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative tasks relevant to the position.
- Community Outreach: Actively participate in community outreach programs to enhance community involvement and development in agriculture.
