Role Summary:
The ERP Project Manager will oversee the successful implementation, upgrade, and optimization of Legal Aid SA’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing ERP projects to ensure they meet organizational goals, are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budget.
- Lead project teams in implementing and supporting ERP solutions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary contact between the project team, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular meetings to provide updates, gather requirements, and address concerns.
- Ensure clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resource Management:
- Allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Manage the project team’s daily activities, including task assignments and prioritization.
- Work with HR and department heads to ensure necessary resources are available.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Track expenses and report on financial performance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.
- Resolve issues promptly to minimize impact on project outcomes.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all deliverables meet required quality standards.
- Oversee the testing and validation of ERP functionalities.

- Post-Implementation Support:
- Develop and execute a support plan following implementation.

Required Competencies:
- Education and Qualifications:
- National Senior Certificate or Matric.
- Postgraduate degree in Project Management or a related field.
- An IT qualification is advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience, including five (5) years in project management.
- Demonstrable experience in ERP system implementation, particularly with data migration and system integration.
- Knowledge of Finance, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Asset Management, and HR systems.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Proven ability to lead enterprise-level change management.
- Experience with project management tools and techniques.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills at various organizational levels.
