Key Responsibilities
The Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications strategies that support the overall vision of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme. Some of your main duties include:
- Developing a Comprehensive Marketing Strategy:
- Collaborate with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) to create a robust marketing and communication plan.
- Align the plan with the broader objectives of both the Mastercard Foundation and the University of Pretoria’s Department of Institutional Advancement (DIA).
- Content Creation and Dissemination:
- Craft compelling narratives that showcase the transformative impact of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme.
- Ensure consistent messaging and communication with donors, partners, and staff through diverse channels such as newsletters, social media, and press releases.
- Event Promotion:
- Promote the programme’s events, ensuring the target audience is reached effectively.
- Work on enhancing community engagement by emphasizing inclusivity and accessibility, especially for underprivileged groups.
- Crisis Communication:
- Develop and implement strategies to manage communication during challenging times, ensuring the programme’s reputation is protected.

Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least five years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Other Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license.
