Purpose of the Role:
As a Client Liaison Administrator, your main responsibility is to provide comprehensive administrative, secretarial, and support services to the regional office. This includes liaising with regional stakeholders and managers to facilitate effective skills development initiatives in the respective regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficient administration of records and information to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
- Handle and respond to all stakeholder queries, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Process learner registrations, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.
- Support stakeholders in navigating application procedures for grants, including Mandatory and Discretionary Grants.
- Manage apprenticeship-related matters, including trade test bookings and learner suspensions.
- Coordinate logistics for travel arrangements and regional events.
- Provide support to regional offices in line with merSETA’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-year Diploma or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification in Business Administration, Office Administration, Commerce, Project Management, Training, or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in administration and customer relations, preferably within a SETA environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent technical and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

2. Specialist Media Relations and Publications
Fixed-Term Contract: Aligned to the SETA Licence Term
Salary: R481,232 – R576,384 per annum

Purpose of the Role:
This role is designed for individuals passionate about media relations, publications, and public relations. As a Specialist in Media Relations and Publications, your primary responsibility will be to safeguard merSETA’s reputation through effective media and public relations efforts while managing internal and external publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement media relations strategies and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Manage the production of internal and external publications, such as press releases, newsletters, and corporate brochures.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, pitching stories to media outlets.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to enhance merSETA’s brand presence.
- Edit and proofread organizational documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy in communication.
- Coordinate media networking sessions and brand PR programs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-year National Diploma or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification in Journalism.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related fields would be advantageous.
- At least 3 years of experience as a writer and/or editor.
- At least 3 years of experience in media relations or public relations.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong media relations abilities, with experience in pitching stories.
- Proficiency in journalistic writing standards such as AP Style.
- Project management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater).
