Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience.
- Specific Experience: Experience in a technical training environment is an added advantage.
- Additional Requirements: A valid driver’s license and own transport are essential.

Key Performance Areas
As an Occupational Health and Safety Officer, your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing Health and Safety Systems:
- Creating and implementing policies, procedures, and manuals to ensure a safe working environment for all.
- Inspection and Compliance:
- Conducting regular inspections of workplaces, equipment, and training workshops.
- Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and MRTT standards.
- Promoting Safety Practices:
- Encouraging safe working practices and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Investigating reported incidents and unsafe working conditions.
- Analyzing possible causes and recommending effective remedial actions.
- Resolving Safety Issues:
- Ensuring all safety audit findings are addressed within the specified timeframes.
- Training and Education:
- Conducting training sessions for management, supervisors, and employees on health and safety practices and legislation.
