Requirements:
- Education:
- Matric certificate
- LLB Degree or a four-year legal qualification
- Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ legal experience post-qualification
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in superior courts or litigation is advantageous
- Supervisory experience is advantageous

Assessment:

Duties:
- Case Flow and Administrative Support:
- Coordinate case flow management and provide administrative support to the judiciary
- Ensure compliance with court rules and relevant prescripts
- Handle taxation duties as Taxing Master
- Manage the issuing of processes and initiation of court proceedings
- Case Management:
- Coordinate appeals and reviews (civil and criminal)
- Process and grant judgments by default
- Quality check criminal record books
- Execute requests from the judiciary regarding cases and case-related matters
- Issue/sign court orders and correspondence to attorneys and litigants
- Record Management and Reporting:
- Authenticate signatures of legal practitioners, notaries, and sworn translators
- Process unopposed divorces and facilitate pre-trial conferences
- Monitor and analyze court statistics (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
- Manage and safeguard case records and the records room
- Prepare cases for audit purposes
- Oversee the functionality of the court recording system
- Public and Staff Management:
- Notify managers of needs for translation/transcripts of cases
- Address general public queries and correspondence
- Handle urgent applications during office hours, after-hours, weekends, and public holidays
- Manage office operations, planning, and organizing
- Oversee staff management and related HR processes

Foreign Qualifications and Citizenship
- Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
- Dual citizenship holders must provide a police clearance certificate from their country of origin.
- Non-South African citizens will need to submit proof of permanent residence when shortlisted.
Selection Process
- Candidates will undergo a personnel suitability check, including criminal record, financial checks, qualification verification, and employment history.
- Shortlisted candidates for Senior Management Service (SMS) positions will participate in a technical competency exercise and managerial competencies assessment.
- Successful candidates must complete the Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme (certificate) before appointment.
- An employment contract and performance agreement will be required within three months of appointment. A security clearance will be required after three months.
