Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or relevant training
- Unendorsed code B driver’s license
- Willingness to work shifts, standby, weekends, and holidays
- Minimum of six (6) months experience as a general worker, preferably in water facilities
Duties:
- Data Handling: Ability to read, interpret, and convey manual and electronic data (e.g., meters, gauges, data loggers)
- Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance, ground keeping, and housekeeping of premises.
- Transportation: Handling and transportation of water quality samples, chemicals, and heavy materials or equipment.
- Documentation: Complete work procedures forms, timesheets, stock-sheets, log-sheets, job cards, and other reporting forms.
- Operational Support: Assist with pipe-bursts, cleaning of reservoirs, sediment tanks, and filters.
- Waste Management: Clearing, processing, and disposal of foliage, sludge, and waste.
- Plant Upkeep: General cleaning and maintenance of purification plant, scheme offices, and buildings.
- Inventory Management: Keep inventory of all plant consumables required for operational activities and housekeeping.
- Compliance: Adhere to statutory and regulatory requirements for water and wastewater facilities.
- Other Tasks: Carry out other building maintenance activities, follow lawful instructions from line managers or supervisors, ensuring asset safeguarding.
- Flexibility: May require rotation/travel to other sites based on operational demands
