Key Responsibilities
As the Payroll Administrative Officer, you will report directly to the Manager: Payroll and be responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring timely salary processing. Some of your primary duties will include:
Payroll Processing
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salaries, deductions, and benefits.
- Process staff documentation related to payroll while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Maintain confidential payroll records in accordance with company policies.
Work-Study Payments & Staff Rebates
- Upload and process Work-Study student payments and tuition deductions.
- Approve and process staff rebates, ensuring compliance with university policies.
Compliance & Liaison
- Communicate with SARS, governmental agencies, and financial institutions to meet statutory obligations.
- Assist with payroll system audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Training & Support
- Provide training and support on payroll systems and processes.
- Work closely with the Finance Department to reconcile payroll-related accounts.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
- Stay updated on payroll legislation, tax regulations, and best practices to ensure efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this exciting role, you must meet the following criteria:
Education & Qualifications
- A relevant post-matric qualification in Accounting, Payroll, or a related field (NQF Level 6).
Experience
- At least two (2) years of experience in payroll administration.
Added Advantages
